Creo que al final voy a hacer la clasificación por tipo de avión y quizá como segundo criterio el peso en vacío para fuselaje estrecho y ancho, ya que la base de datos no tiene este criterio y está menos relacionado con el aterrizaje:

Con lo que tendremos las siguientes aeronaves:

commuter, regional, medios, pesados.

the commuter category is more formally defined in aircraft certification standards. If you're in the US, FAR 23.3 defines a commuter category aircraft as:

"The commuter category is limited to propeller-driven, multi-engine airplanes that have a seating configuration, excluding pilot seats, of 19 or less, and a maximum certificated takeoff weight of 19,000 pound or less. The commuter category operation is limited to any maneuver incident to normal flying, stalls (except whip stalls), and steep turns, in which the angle of bank is not more than 60 degrees."
